Who said the finest gelatos are only found in Italy?! Allow me to show you this hidden gem to enjoy any summer or winter day at Booza Society, nestled in Hamra next to the Lebanese American University (LAU).
When I visited Booza Society last week and I discovered it by simply walking around the neighborhood, it felt like I had found a gelato shop that will satisfy my appetite for any flavor of gelato I could ever ask for! All of the ingredients are freshly prepared in a day and then frozen for another day to be served on the third day. Talk about persistence and passion!
The owner runs the shop by himself as it is his retirement plan after he studied the chemistry behind making gelatos in Italy. It has been 2 years so far since he opened this Booza Society and he aims to keep the recipes of gelatos as a secret; hence, he would only hire someone for serving and not in the kitchen!
I am glad I get to share with you his side of the story, only hoping that you'd have a taste of his gelatos when you're in Beirut, Lebanon.
