I got a new watch to track my steps and calories so I had to go and challenge others by adding more and more. And where better to do that other than on the famous stairs of St Nicolas in Gemmayze?! I could tell you how many I got, but I lost count as I lost my breath. But I really love these stairs, there's something particular about them that make Gemmayze a special area. They're very artsy for the colors painted on every step and whenever someone has something to showcase, this is where they'd head. You may find street dancers/ performers or people selling bags and faux bijoux, or you could get your snacks and drinks and just chill there.
The stairs take you from Gemmayze pasteur to Sursock street. On the way up, you could find all types of people, business people, artists, students. There are also some cafes where some people chill with their pets.

My friend got the chicken sandwich which he said was delicious, while I enjoyed the Bruvs pasta, which was creamy, cheesy, and simply yummy!

I am a vegetarian and going to a Lebanese diner is never an issue: half of the mezze does not contain meat or poultry, and several dishes are even vegan.

The menu is diversified with not only hearty salads but also tartines, sandwiches, soups, desserts, and sweet bowls. One of my favorites is the Acai bowl.
