Zemun (like so many other areas of Belgrade) is best explored on foot. Its charm can only be captured walking down its narrow streets and discovering all the cool spots it has to offer.
Kafeterija Mlin is a coffee shop located in a street which tends to get overlooked by people visiting Zemun, as it is located on the opposite side of Glavna (Serbian for Main street) to the main sights of old Zemun.
Appropriately, I was introduced to this place by someone who lives in Zemun. It has become our go-to spot for an iced latte to go in the summer, perfect for taking to nearby Zemunski Park or Zemunski Kej (Danube riverside). In winter, we like to get vanilla cappuccinos and enjoy our cups of coffee in its cozy interior made by friendly baristas.
Like many other coffee shops in Belgrade, it offers plenty of milk alternatives for people who prefer plant-based food and drinks. But this place doesn't stop there; it also expands its menu to high-quality teas, freshly pressed juices, smoothies, and even beers and cocktails. So, feel free to experience this place any way you prefer, and you can always expect a smile and a delicious drink, no matter what you order.
