We visited Bratislava yesterday, for a too short visit of 24 hours… We are very happy all our current Bratislava Spotters were present to meet us in the early sunny evening in the public park around the castle.
It was a very nice meeting, although it turned we had to watch out for the police a little bit as it was not allowed to drink alcohol around the castle… Fortunately we were not caught drinking our Slovak wines & beers during sunset. When the sun set, we went down hill for a last drink in a little bar. Perfect evening!
Of course we spent as much as possible of the little time we had in Bratislava exploring the wonderful favorite spots our Spotters have written about. Our conclusion: Bratislava is just as beautiful as it was the last 2 times we visited (in 2008 and 2011), but “hipper”. We visited (even sometimes for just a minute) some cool local micro-breweries, hipster coffee spots and art galleries. And a golden oldie we feel obliged to return to every time: Verne.
Thank you Bratislava Spotters for your time and for making a truly great insider guide to a city we think more people should visit. For longer than the 24 hours we did.
Next stop on our Interrail trip: Budapest!
