Meeting the Budapest Spotters
The 10th destination on our trip to 26 cities in Europe: Budapest! We’re lucky to have found a nice little apartment here, and have stayed in this great city for almost a week.

Some of the many Spotted by Locals spots we visited:

Capa Center Budapest (Image by Helene Bienvenu)
Capa Center – A very nice photography center dedicated to Robert Capa, the world famous photographer with Hungarian origins. Spotted by our photographer Spotter Hélène.

Tisza Cipő (Image by Helene Bienvenu)
Tisza Cipő – Hungary’s super quality, historic & trendy sneaker shop. I’m very happy our Spotter Hélène recommended me this place years ago – unfortunately this time they didn’t have the shoe I wanted in my size, to replace the Tisza’s I’ve worn almost every day for many years.

Bangla Büfé (Image by Miklos Zsamboki)
Bangla Büfé – A tiny Bangladeshi restaurant in a touristy area, but mostly frequented by locals. Spotted by a Budapest Spotter who has been with us since 2008 – Kalman!

Roham bar (by Julianna Kato)
Roham Bar – This is where locals go for foosball, live music, coffee & art. Spotted by our newest Spotter Julianna!

Mika Tivadar Bar Budapest (by Ormos József)
Mika Tivadar Bar – “Ruin pubs” are not as trendy as they used to be in Budapest amongst locals, but this fancy one definitely is!

Szimpla Berlin (by Tamás Tossenberger)
Szimpla Berlin – The re-opened classic with great wifi and even better espresso, spotted by Tamás. This is where we worked from quite a few hours.

Szabó Ervin Könyvtár (by Timea Szodorai)
Szabó Ervin Könyvtár – A beautiful library, with one of the cheapest canteens of the city! It’s one of the top 5 favorite spots of our Budapest Spotter Timea.
Thanks so much to our Budapest Spotters – the Budapest guide is really an excellent one. We had a lot of fun meeting you all, and we hope to be back soon. For now, on to the next city… Belgrade!
