My internship at Spotted by Locals

My name is Kristina Kukhalashvili and I have been doing my internship in social media at Spotted by Locals during the summer f 2014. Originally I am from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, but I have been living and studying in Jyväskylä, Finland, for a while.

I am a third year student of International Business programme at JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Finland and I will do my exchange in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Why did I choose to do my internship at Spotted by Locals?
My passion is marketing and I was always curious about learning more how to increase awareness of a company or build up strong community by using different social media channels.

During my studies in Finland, I had many projects connecting with social media and I was looking forward to gain more knowledge about it. Therefore, my aim for the internship was to broaden my expertise in the field. The internship at Spotted by Locals had everything that I was searching for.

Also I’ve found concept of Spotted by Locals simply great and I really wanted to be part of this.

What did I learn?
I would honestly say that social media is not that easy as it seems to be. I gained a lot of experience and had an opportunity to learn more about different approaches and strategies during working process. I’ve learnt so much about social media tools by doing interesting projects at Spotted by Locals.

And the most important part: the tasks I’m doing are entertaining and fun throughout my internship, so I keep learning something new day by day!
