Yelp is a very popular website for locals and travelers, with user generated reviews about spots in – mostly US – cities.

The Wall Street Journal reports nine small businesses in the US joined a lawsuit accusing yelp of extortion and fraudulent business. It’s not the first time Yelp was accused. An interesting case we will certainly follow.

Should you be worried about the impartiality of our local tips: Spotted by Locals or our Spotters will never accept money or anything in return for writing a positive review or removing critical comments – as we also clearly state on our “about us” page.

We won’t be evil ;), and hopefully Yelp turns out not to be either.
