After launching the Malmö city guide a few months ago, we were happy to have the chance to visit so soon on our Interrail trip to meet Spotters in 10 cities.
We can now heartily recommend visiting Malmo – just a short train ride from Copenhagen but very different – from a personal perspective too!
We knew the Malmö guide was a very good one, with tips ranging from urban exploring, to sunkhaksturné to beautiful nature in an old industrial area and impressive street art.
But we were still very impressed by the cool architecture, very multi-cultural and relaxed atmosphere and cool spots. Meeting our Spotters was very fun too.
We launched Spotted by Locals Malmo as part of our effort to help combat overtourism. We want to motivate travelers to visit less-visited destinations instead of the destinations “everybody” is going to.
It’s very nice to see our Spotters are getting attention in the Swedish newspaper for their efforts. The Swedish daily Aftonbladet wrote about us, and a journalist from Skånska interviewed us in Malmö!
This trip was made possible by 🚆 Interrail – the pass that allows you to travel on almost all trains in Europe
And 🛌 Hostelworld.com – the place to book hostels. In Malmö we stayed at the STF Malmö City Hostel
