Our Europe trip – City 14: Milan!

Coco Chanel Milan

Milan style

Our 14th city already, on our trip to meet our Spotters in 22 cities in Europe! As Milan locals like to move around the world, which means we need new Spotters often, we’ve had the pleasure of visiting Milan to meet new locals quite a few times already since we launched the Milan guide in 2008…

Spotters meeting Milano Elena

Meeting our Spotter Elena and Maurizio

It’s always a pleasure to visit Milan. This time we were a bit unlucky, because almost all of the Spotters were out of town. We had a very nice meeting with Elena and her boyfriend Maurizio!

Cascina Cucagna Milan 3

Cascina Cuggagna Milan

The weather was great, and we saw a lot of nice spots! One of our favorites was Cascina Cuggagna. It’s a great summer spot – a green oasis in the middle of the city with excellent ecological food and drinks.

Navigli 2

Navigli Milan

The spot we picked for lunch was Giannino l’Angolo di Abruzzo. Exactly what we hoped for: an affordable super busy place full of locals!

Of course no visit of Milan is complete without having an aperitivo. The Navigli district just keeps going strong – it has been happening and expanding for at least 10 years now since I first visited the district! Our pick from the many excellent spots in the area was the relaxed Capetown – perfect for our favorite activity in Milan: people watching..

We hope to be back soon to meet the other Milano Spotters again… Next stop on our Interrail trip: Rome!
