My name is Lenka and I just finished my internship atĀ Spotted by Locals. I would like to share a few words about this wonderful experience.
About me
Please, let me introduce myself. I was born and grew up in the Czech Republic where I also finished my bachelor degree in Management of Tourism. During my bachelor studies I had a chance to take part in two exchange programs. Thus, I spent one semester in Amsterdam and one semester in Hualien (Taiwan). Both of these experiences where absolutely amazing and deepened my interest in travelling.
At this moment, I live in Copenhagen and am studying forĀ my master degree in Tourism. When the time to choose my internship came around, I did not have to think too long. Spotted by Locals was the obvious choice! I regularly use the website when I travel in EuropeĀ andĀ I also searchĀ for cool tips about the city where I live. Besides, I am interested in using social media forĀ tourism and Spotted by Locals offers an internship in this field. Spotted by Locals was the perfect fit for me!
My internship
It is hard to writeĀ a short summary about my internship because I have learned so much. I have to admit that one of the skills I improved is time management. I worked from home without fixed working hours which was completely new for me. It helped me to schedule my time and divide my attention between more and less important tasks. This internship was focused on social media and I definitely learned a lot by working with different programs and social media channels which I hadn’tĀ used before. I gained valuable knowledge about social media channels as well as the motivation to keep working in this field. Finally, I learned more about Spotted by Locals. I thought that it was just a great guide for travellers with anĀ interest in local culture but I found out that Spotted by Locals is also a great community of amazing people.
InĀ the end, I would like to say thank you to all theĀ Spotters I had contactĀ with during my internship because they were always so kind and friendly. I would like to say a big thank you to Laura, Bart and Sanne. YouĀ were always there when I had any questions or needed some help. It was a pleasure to meet you and work with you.
