As my three months as an intern at Spotted by Locals come to an end, I felt like the only appropriate thing would be to share my experience. Jumping into an internship at Spotted by Locals was like diving headfirst into the deep end but in the best way possible. The work was intense, with tight deadlines and a never-ending to-do list. I was thrown into real projects right away, and it was a bit overwhelming at first. But that’s exactly what made it such an incredible learning experience.
I got to do everything from managing content to connecting with Spotters – those amazing locals who make Spotted by Locals what it is. Every day, I learned something new, whether it was about digital marketing, creating content, or how much goes into running a global travel community.
What really made the internship special, though, was the people. Jorn and Holger were not just colleagues but mentors who genuinely cared about my growth. And the Spotters community? Absolutely inspiring. They’re a passionate, creative group, and being part of that energy was unforgettable.
So, thank you to Jorn, Holger, and the entire Spotters community. I’m walking away with more knowledge, skills, and appreciation for what it takes to create something truly meaningful.
