Our North America trip: City 10 – Philadelphia!

Meeting the Philly Spotters on Rob's roof terrace

Meeting the Philly Spotters on Rob’s roof terrace

We just visited Philadelphia – one of the latest city guides we launched in North America!

In 2007 I visited Philadelphia, and I wasn’t impressed. Some friends who lived in the area just took me to the tourist highlights, and we did not see anything else. After preparing for this trip by reading all the tips in the Philadelphia Spotted by Locals app last year, I got a very different impression.

Beautiful 19th century architecture

And it’s true: the “real” Philadelphia is super cool – we loved it!

Highlight of course was meeting our Philadelphia Spotters. Rob was so kind to open up his beautiful house in South Philly for us, and we had a very nice evening on his rooftop terrace.

Street art everywhere!

Street art everywhere!

Unfortunately we had only 36 hours to visit this city with its very cool mix of beautiful old houses and street art everywhere. We saw many spots, but we really have to come back!

On the way back (Cara Jo was so kind to drive us) from the Spotters meeting I dropped my phone on the roadside in the center of the city. 20 minutes later after I had found out what happened and we had driven back the phone was still there. This must be a sign that the kind people of Philly like me too…

Next and last stop on this North America trip to 11 cities: Washington DC!
