Create your own bento in Antwerp
Kupuku is located in the Driekoningenstraat in Berchem and is probably the cutest gift store in Antwerp. What is especially nice about the store is that owner Silvia offers a three-hour workshop on how to make your very own bento. Not only is this a lovely way to spend an afternoon, but you will also learn how to make a nice healthy Japanese lunch!

Atelier Papaver in Bratislava is run by Lenka and Monika, they are known for their non-traditional flower compositions, nature-friendly attitude, seasonal and meadow flowers. In 2013 they started the Flower School, through which they offer several workshops at different prices! You can do it with your friends or even with your company, plus you can take your masterpiece with you at the end of the class.
Make your own makeup in Brussels
MAKESENZ is a cute and zen little shop in the ever-so-trendy Chatelain area in Brussels. They sell products from different organic, vegan and slow cosmetic labels, and have their own brand, handmade with love in Belgium. They offer workshops where you can learn how to make your own home cleaning products, personalized face creams, solar products, soap, and shampoos! A great activity for makeup lovers wouldn’t you agree?
Get creative in Hamburg
FUX is an old police station in Hamburg which is now the workspace for creatives. The people there are very open-minded and always up for a chat. They also offer all kinds of different workshops in the fields of drawing and photography as well as other cool events! Some workshops are regular, some only once and the costs are pretty low (sometimes even free).
Get your salsa on in Madrid
El Son in central Madrid is a great place to go and enjoy an authentic salsa club. It’s our Spotter Andrea’s recommendation for rookie dancers who may be a little anxious to dance in public since it’s relatively small and not intimidating. Go there if you want to have a night of fun and freedom! They also offer sensual bachata from the Dominican Republic or kizomba from Angola.
Find some inner peace in Oslo
All though Nordic Kadampa Meditation Centre is a modern Buddhist meditation center, everyone is welcome. They offer courses, drop-in classes and weekend classes in meditation. The classes often start with a guided relaxing meditation, followed by a practical teaching on some aspect of Buddhist meditation. Taking a course here is really a great experience and a fun way to learn some new relaxation techniques!
Discover pottery in Philadelphia
Since the mid-’70s, The Clay Studio has been a fixture in Old City, the epicenter of Philadelphia’s gallery scene. You can stop in for a show, shop for pottery, or join one of their many classes. If you like working with your hands and aren’t afraid to get a little dirty then this is the class for you. Create a unique souvenir for yourself or a loved one back home! Tip: Check out their date night event for a fun romantic evening with your partner.
Find your inner Picasso in Saint Petersburg
Palmira Art studio is located just in front of St.Katherine Parish. They offer several different painting classes including oil, batik, pastel crayon, and glass painting. The teachers are very nice and supportive and there is tea and coffee, and some snacks available before and during the lesson. If you don’t speak Russian don’t worry, they have a foreign language center next door. Enjoy learning about your preferred method and take home your masterpiece for a lasting memory!
Rediscover crafts in Thessaloniki
At Koumpi they offer plenty of workshops on a daily basis. What we love about it though is the fact that they offer you a place to learn and practice crafting skills while chatting and having fun. Since a lot of people consider the old-school craft a lonesome activity for old folks, even if this isn’t true. Not in the mood for a long stay? Then try the easy-to-make project kits while enjoying your coffee. You can create a unique and cute souvenir completely on your own!
Make delicious chocolate in Vienna
Xocololat Manufactory is a truly magical place filled with delicious treats that make even the most disciplined among us stop and stare. Truly anything you buy from there is guaranteed to be great, but even greater is that they want to teach us their ways! Learn how to do chocolate desserts, produce your own fruit chocolate with the help of the confectioner or proudly put your self-made finest pralinés in a box after a workshop of around 4 hours. Totally worth it don’t you agree?
