My internship at Spotted by Locals

My name is Thomas dos Reis Faria. Having lived in several great cities: São Paulo, Brasilia, Vienna, Geneva and The Hague I share a passion for traveling and discovering the small aspects that make city life so great.

Spotted by Locals became one of my choices because of its unique position in the tourism sector as an app/blog company. As a student in a Masters of New Media and Digital Cultures, it offered me the mix a good opportunity to understand better how a New Media company works.

With its focus on both the apps and the blogs and its incredible flexible size, I was able to participate in both the marketing strategy and the media content creation part of the company.

The experience I gained in helped me understand marketing better through search engine optimization, creating successful strategies and content as a team, and understanding better the concept the power behind the media networks we use to interact in our daily lives.

Overall my experience was a very pleasant one for an internship as not only the content was great to deal with but there was always space for improvement and constructive criticism in a friendly work environment.
