At a new location near the MIT museum, the MIT Press Bookstore holds a surprising wealth of exceptionally well curated books for serious readers and for the seriously curious.
Associated with MIT Press - an academic publisher with strong emphases in critical theory, art, and architecture - the MIT Press Bookstore also stocks many titles from other publishers complementing these and related subject areas. The books are arranged attractively by topic in a number of bays, so you can start by looking at a book on the geometry of pasta and find yourself happily contemplating the history of cutlery. If this has all moved you to creativity, then there's also a good array of nice blank notebooks.
Personally, I like to check out what's new in the art and architecture section- there's bound to be something interesting and new on an artist I like, or am curious about. Also be sure to check out the discounted section for great books that just maybe sat on their shelves too long.
