Everything that Oleana and Sofra founder Ana Sortun touches turns to culinary gold. This time, Ana backs chef Cassie Piuma's Middle-Eastern meze restaurant Sarma and the result is an explosion of delicious of flavors. As a dedicated patron of all three eateries, I can't recall a single instance of disappointment with the food or drinks. Sarma is the modern, imaginative, inventive avatar of Middle-Eastern cooking.
Walk into the colorful dining area through the dimly lit entrance passageway and you'll immediately feel a vibe similar to a Turkish bazaar. Tables are deliberately placed close, and the servers surprise you with daily specials as your meal progresses. Order yourself a drink and four or five mezes and begin your feast. One of my favorites from my last visit was this mandarin with beet tzatziki.
Whether you're with a group of friends or looking to impress a date, this is a place that'll treat you to something special on each occasion.
