I have a confession to make: I’m not a vegan, but I love vegan donuts.
A few months ago, my boyfriend and I were hanging out, watching Netflix, and we suddenly got a craving for donuts. But not just any donuts, we wanted something gourmet and delicious. A few minutes researching and we found a place called Union Square Donuts that cooked up vegan donuts every day. We were all in.
In the mood for an adventure, we decided to walk. It was about a five-mile walk through the winding streets of Somerville. By the time we got to the shop, you can imagine we were full-on starving.
We each ordered two donuts. He got two glazed, I got a vegan glazed and a vegan cinnamon. They were amazing! Even in the words of my meat-eating boyfriend, when he took a bite of the vegan glazed, he said:
“Wow, I can’t even tell it’s vegan!”
