Rue Lesbroussart is definitely one of the most hype streets in the vibrant area of Ixelles in Brussels. It becomes quite packed during the apero hour. When looking for a place to wind down and have a nice glass of wine (and some delicious tapas) I would recommend “Le Fabiola”. With an extravagant vintage decore, the bar takes its name from Queen Fabiola, a Spanish noblewoman who later became a very beloved Queen consort of the Belgians. Near the entrance, some wooden tables and chairs wait for you. However, the hidden gem remains the back side of the bar that, with its relaxing atmosphere will let you wind down and ready to explore the menu.
As the woman who inspired the name of this place, the bar offers an interesting choice of Spanish wines, which can be better enjoyed with tapas on the side. The mix of charcuterie and cheeses platter, and the Burrata with tomato sauce and noisette are definitely worth trying: be ready to dip your bread in the sauce!
If not a wine lover, beers, cocktails, and softs are also available. Recommended for an intimate apero with some good friends and people you love sharing food with (no Joey Tribbiani allowed!).
