Café Csiga Budapest

Dining in a friendly atmosphere

Kálmán from Budapest

About me I've done a variety of things in the past, a good part of them centred on words: poetry, translation, journalism. I have a history of English studies at college, and of a mighty array of knicks and knacks that are not proper jobs. I like hearing stories and telling stories: they're edifices built of facts (or falsehoods, or falsehoods that are truer than facts, as the case might be)...
"Café Csiga is a classic local spot, with it's laid-back atmosphere and daily menu it has a lot of regulars, who come often for a good lunch, café or beer."

Csiga is a friendly, cozy café and restaurant with really nice cuisine, rather popular with local expats. A very nice place; not too big, but it always has a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, and is a good place to visit with a not-too-large group of friends.

I can't say I've tried everything on the menu, but what I’ve tasted so far has always been fine. If you're going to stay in Budapest for a while, it's worth checking back, as part of the menu — the one on the blackboard on the wall — sometimes changes.

They also have wi-fi, if you need it.

I like hearing stories and telling stories: they're edifices built of facts (or falsehoods, or falsehoods that are truer than facts, as the case might be), but they tell us everything that facts alone never could. About Budapest Because it's old and full of memories, and because it's young and alive and constantly growing and changin...
