After trying ice cream in Italy, it was hard for me to find anything close to the level of real Italian gelato until I found Hisztéria Cremeria, one of few ice cream places in Budapest where you can find divinely creamy ice cream inspired by high standards.
The Ipacs family opened the first ice cream place in 1999 in WestEnd in Budapest, later 2 more confectionaries in the countryside, and Hisztéria Cremeria was opened on Andrassy avenue. It is a ‘creamery’ as they use special modern technology that allows them to create soft and creamy ice cream made of high-quality ingredients. You can find mono tastes such as pistachio, melon, or Belgian chocolate along with combinations such as white chocolate with strawberry or melon with Parma ham.
Apart from ice cream, they have a wide variety of tasty cakes, and those are of high quality which is another bonus to their karma. Besides, they are so professional and creative in cake making that several of their cakes won first place in the annual Hungarian Cake of the Year contest. Their Curiositas won 1st place in this competition in 2020, and if you happen to come by Hisztéria Cremeria you can still try it there!
