Napocska (Little Sun) brought with its appearance a much-needed color to the area. Located right by Lehel Market Hall, the ship-shaped building offers plenty of fresh goods and local produce every day. The neighborhood has undeniably seen better days. The run-down little newspaper kiosk beside it was hardly its most charming feature—until a young local couple found it and worked miracles.
Now, this tiny pavilion café, with its few tables and chairs, is a vivid ray of sunshine in the otherwise somewhat grey picture. If you look at the map, it may seem a bit far from the center, but by metro or bike, you can get here very quickly.
As for the menu, they have top-quality light roast coffee and a wide variety of beverages, such as matcha, chai, fresh juices and many more. If you're hungry, you can get carefully prepared sandwiches, cookies and donuts — all at a reasonable price, which is a huge thing as the popular Pest-side neighbourhood, Újlipótváros is only a crossroad away, where the prices are for a rather wealthier crowd.
The owners, Tomi and Vera, have transformed this once-forgotten kiosk into a true highlight, now a favorite among locals.
Sit outside at the tables and enjoy the sun, or grab a (menu) coffee and sandwich to go and enjoy a nice stroll to the Danube!
