Although Tütü opened its gates in May 2023, its name might sound familiar to those who were actively taking part in social and cultural events in the late '90s and early 2000s as it was a short-lived but significant cultish spot back then, located under the Ballet Institute in the Dreschler-palace that shut down in 2002.
The name has a history carried along by the owners, who have now started running their heartful bar and café in a rather surprising but refreshing neighbourhood for this type of venue. It is to be found in the embassy area on the Pest side, surrounded by wonderful villas and spectacular buildings, mostly home for offices or wealthy residents of the city, and the Liget, a large green field of the city, is also just a couple of minutes away.
At this spot, you may find the events of some of the well-known members of the local underground scene playing some funky sets or having an exhibition. There are a lot of happenings and changes at Tütü Tango since the new staff and the place itself is just figuring itself out, but it definitely has promising potential not to mention the lovely green yard where you can always hang out with a good cold beer or a good coffee.
