Reggies Chicago is something special because it's a hybrid space. Not only is it a grunge bar, but it's also a concert venue. Not only do they serve delicious American cuisine (think mac and cheese and buffalo chicken wings), they also can take you where you need to go.
Reggies Chicago hosts events at very reasonable prices. Located on the south side of the city adjacent to Chinatown, Reggies Chicago hosts White Sox Sundays. A ticket for select Sunday White Sox games allows you access to their buffet and with a ride to and from the White Sox baseball stadium, bleacher ticket included. They house several school buses that have been decked out with stickers and graffiti that take you to the Sox park or other concert venues in Chicago.
Additionally, Reggies Chicago opened a lakeside bar location and every day during the summer on the hour, a shuttle takes you to the beach bar or back to Reggies' "headquarters" on State Street. In July, I went to Reggies Chicago and hopped on one of their school buses to their beach bar for a yoga class and post-workout beverage; their beach bar feels like you are on a tropical vacation since it's far from Chicago's downtown and right against the sand. Also, if you are in town for their annual pancake art show, it's not to be missed: live music meets painters showcasing their work and Reggies' employees cook pancakes for consumption. This is a truly unique Chicago dive.
