Daisys Tearoom & Garden is a cosy café in a half-timbered house just south of Cologne, on the right bank of the Rhine. Daisys is run by a friendly German/English couple.
You can go to Daisys without a reservation, but if you want to have afternoon tea or their Typical English Breakfast, you have to order in advance. To give you an idea, the Daisys Traditional Afternoon Tea consists of a pot of tea, salmon and cucumber sandwiches, a sultana scone, strawberry jam, clotted cream and small cakes. For an English breakfast, see my photo at the top of this article. They also serve other breakfasts such as French or vegan.
Afterwards, you can take a digestive walk around Obere Groov Lake, where, like me, you may marvel at the sight of a beaver for a long time, only to realise it was an invasive muskrat all along.
