Panti Bar describes itself as a homo activity centre but it’s so much more to me. As an ally of the community, I regularly meet friends here, both gay and straight, for an after-work drink or a wild night out, depending on our mood and what way the night goes. It is owned by the notorious Panti Bliss, a well-known Dublin drag queen, activist and performer who is popular both in Ireland and across the world for his cabaret drag show RIOT!
The bar itself is bright, cosy and has really made a name for itself on the Dublin gay club scene, which is minuscule in comparison to our European counterparts like Berlin. Its bright red exterior is matched only by the colourful but classy interior and the staff are extremely friendly and always willing to chat. The entertainment is second to none. Every night there is some form of show, be it dancing, drag, karaoke, bingo and all with a naughty twist. They regularly host events and themed nights and the dress code is... whatever you want!
