It's no secret that Dublin is a city with changeable weather, but sometimes unexpected rain can result in wonderful discoveries. This was my case with Needful Things, an antique, collectibles, and second-hand book store that I discovered by chance while trying to find shelter from the rain. It is without a doubt the perfect place for movie lovers to get lost for hours because in Needful Things you will find things that are very needful, like framed photographs of The Shining, collectible soap from Fight Club, or full detail masks of The Joker.
For me, the things catch my attention are mainly those that carry with them an aura of nostalgia. There are, for example, boxes full of old laminated magazines in perfect condition. One can also find comics and old theater programs from the Abbey Theater in Dublin. Where I spend most of my time every time I go to Needful Things is reading the old postcards, as they are written postcards that once belonged to someone. Some of them have messages of love, happy birthday wishes for a friend, or greetings for a guy named Jhon who probably nobody knows anymore. What is certain is that in Needful Things there are some very personal items full of soul.
