The Dog House & Blue’s Tea Rooms is truly one of the most special restaurants I have ever come across. Situated in Howth, and very easy to find as it is right outside the DART station, this dog-friendly place is a must-visit for animal lovers and their loyal four-legged companions.
It is not hard to notice that the owners of the place are fervent dog lovers. The name of the restaurant itself honors the memory of Blue, their sheepdog. The menu also reveals its dog-inspired 'bites' with plates as 'Puppy Pasta', 'The Snoop Dog' (with 'Extra Herb' of course), or 'Doggie Heaven...'
Concerning the price, it is not the most low-cost place to eat I could recommend but it is still very affordable taking into account Dublin prices. Besides, I can definitely say that the food is worth paying for as the quality is amazing and the atmosphere and decoration of the place are among the most Instagram-picture-worthy (and you all know what I mean by this) I have seen in Dublin. The garden has a super cozy vibe, decorated with lights all around, wooden furniture, and...A bed?! The indoor area is also predominated by antique furniture, dim light, and a general warm feeling.
So if you just finished your Howth walks or simply got confused by the DART and ended up in Howth, make sure to check out this place. Important note: they don't sell beer, only wines. But to make up for this they have a BYOB policy!
