The National Botanical Gardens Dublin

Oasis in the city

Daiana from Dublin

About me Heya! My name is Daiana and I'm a recent English Philology graduate. When I'm not binge-watching some tv show for three days in a row, I can become pretty active and adventurous. I started traveling when I was very little and it's an interest I kept with me to this day. I love discovering new places especially if it's in nature, as hiking and camping are two of my greatest passions....
""The National Botanical Gardens" in Dublin is one of my favorite places. I love the greenhouses, especially the Victoria Waterlily House..."

One of my favorite places in Dublin city is the Botanical Gardens. It is the perfect place to walk and relax while admiring the vibrant colors of the flowers and the incredible variety of plants. I also think that any visitor has a guaranteed smile when discovering the squirrels running and playing in the bushes.

For me, The National Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to escape the busy life of the city and relax with a dose of nature in this very calm environment. Within the Botanical Gardens, it is worth highlighting the impressive glasshouses, such as the Teak House, The Alpine House, or the Orchid house, among others, all of them with stunning architecture. The glasshouse that catches my attention the most is The Victoria Waterlily House as once you enter it transports you to a new world with a warm and humid climate and some giant lily pads inside (it makes me feel like I'm in Jurassic Park for some reason lol).

Due to the current situation, the glasshouses are closed but the rest of the gardens are open to the public and I think it is the perfect place to spend the whole morning admiring its beauty while relaxing. Believe me, this place looks like something out of a fairy tale.

Careful now, it’s rocking great!

"Fibber Magees" in Dublin is a truly non-touristic place, a true rock bar that has been around for more than 30 years - and closes after most other pubs!
