There are plenty of great places to grab lunch in Dublin, but trying to find a decent breakfast on the other hand can often involve quite a bit more legwork. But the Pepper Pot cafe in the Powerscourt Townhouse is one of my go-to places for that most important meal of the day.
The breakfast menu is limited but I usually head here for the scrambled eggs which have been described by the Irish Times as some of the best in town. If that’s not enough to convince you then they also do some great bowls of organic porridge with roasted pears or raspberries.
The building itself is over 250 years old with the café located on a mezzanine which overlooks what is now a boutique shopping centre housing Irish designer shops. The Townhouse opens at 10:00 daily so if this is too late for breakfast the Pepper Pot is also worth considering for lunch. Try the balsamic roasted beetroot salad with orange and toasted hazelnuts washed down with a homemade blackberry, pear and sage lemonade.
The Pepper Pot is very centrally located but could also be easily overlooked which makes it a great spot for a quiet bite to eat at any time of the day.
