Tucked away in the busy quartier of the Canton hospital, Les Petites Artisanes (LPA) is aptly named — cute, creative small-eats are their USP.
With minimalistic decor and cozy vibes, LPA welcomes you with a fairly large and tasteful selection of hot beverages. From hot teas to fruit frappes, their drinks menu has something to offer for everyone. The highlight, however, is their range of petit plaisirs, which has fresh, homemade cookies with classic and seasonal toppings, loaf cake slices, and brioches.
My favourite is definitely their cruffin — a combination of a croissant and a muffin. Flaky, crispy, yet soft and plush inside, usually stuffed with compote or chocolate paste. The place tends to get quite vibrant, thanks to the resident doctors working at the hospital nearby. The service is at the bar, and the baristas are kind enough to let you spend time there as long as you don't whip out your laptop and go all professional at the cafe. The "laptop time slot" is very limited, so go there with a book and with an aim to chill.
They also have a range of breakfast and brunches (tartines, for example) on their menu if you are hungry and want something filling.
Best enjoyed on a rainy autumn evening at the table next to the window farthest from the door, with an apple cruffin and a flat white.
