I live in Lokstedt: the center and production site of Nivea. Maybe you know the blue cream that is sold worldwide in varying versions. Parts of this district always smell like the cream or shower gel they are currently producing at the Lokstedt factory. But you can’t buy it here…
The situation is completely different at our city center with the very prominent flagship store at Jungfernstieg. Although people told me that they like to go there to buy products or enjoy a massage, I don’t frequent the shop often. Except for very special occasions like once when ages ago they had air fresheners for the car with the smell of suncream. I really loved that. But when I need a small and typical gift from Hamburg and am in a hurry or totally out of the opening hours I go there, because they sell the smallest and cutest version of their cream in a vending machine 24/7! And I love vending machines as much as the always-same smell of the blue Nivea cream. It smells like home to me.
