Right off Paul-Roosen-Straße, behind a well-known currywurst stand, Kiosque quietly waits.
In the morning, there’s fresh sourdough, butter-rich croissants, and good coffee. It’s calm, understated, and has the kind of focus that lets the food speak for itself.
Come evening, the place shifts and so does the menu. House focaccia with garlic and olive oil, giant olives with lemon zest, spicy artichokes with grapefruit oil. Oysters with rhubarb and black pepper, stracciatella with grilled peach and cucumber, lobster Caesar salad, or cantaloupe with bluefin tuna and wild herbs.
Pasta plays a big role here, too. There’s spicy vodka rigatoni, fusilli alfredo, gnocchi with lobster and fennel, paccheri with hazelnut beef ragu, or lemon linguine with smoked eel and bottarga. The dishes change, but the vibe stays: unfussy, fresh, and a little bold.
You can’t reserve. You just show up and see what happens. It’s not cheap, but it’s not meant to be. Kiosque is where you go when you want something that feels low-key but delivers something special.
