La Bête Noire means the black beast in French. A phrase once used for something haunting, unforgettable, maybe even a little forbidden. In Eimsbüttel, it’s the name of a café that does exactly what a good café should: it draws you in, slowly.
The coffee is roasted in-house. Each cup has clarity, depth, and intention. Whether you drink filter or flat white, what lands on the table is honest. Quietly excellent.
You might come for the croque, crisp and melting, served with or without ham. Or the granola, made in-house, on berries and something just slightly tart. Pastries wait under glass. People sit outside, reading books and writing poems.
Inside, soft yellow walls. A ceiling that still remembers another century. A wooden shelf filled with black coffee bags, lined up like a library of taste.
