If you can speak a little German or know the rules of some board games by heart, I highly recommend coming to Würfel & Zucker, which translates into dice and sugar, a board game café in Eilbek. But even if you don't know the rules, you can always ask the kind staff, who will explain it (this is what the 5€ rental fee for a whole day of fun are for) or just grab something to drink and/or eat.
It is a place to hang out for the whole day if the weather is bad or if you want to play a board game with friends and didn't take it with you. On the 3rd Sunday of each month, you can check out unpublished games presented by their authors for free. I've made some really nice contacts here with game nerds already. Even if you come alone, you can, at least on one of those Sundays, make new friends by playing board games with them. Of course there is food (pizza, panini and cake, as well as small snacks) and drinks (the usual stuff) you can order to enjoy while playing.
You can choose between 900 board games and can check their website for specials like gaming competitions. There's even a typical German bowling alley downstairs. It is a hell of a lot of fun here!
