The name of this place stands for "tenant" - and it's the kind of tenant I'd love to host if I were a landlady. Kraków can boast several places that offer really good coffee and even better books, however Lokator has a special place in my heart - for a handful of reasons.
First thing - the location. Situated on the Kazimierz side of Kładka Bernatka (the famous lovelock bridge), Lokator makes a nice location to continue exploring the famous Jewish district, as well as to cross the bridge and see Podgórze, an underrated area with lots of charming spots. What's more, the selection of books they offer at Lokator is carefully crafted. Here you can find the best translations, the most valuable Polish titles and the most wonderfully designed editions only. I also have to mention their impressive selection of beautiful children's books - this is the place to go if you're on the lookout for a special gift for a little one.
The vast majority of books at Lokator is in Polish, but no need to worry if you don't speak it. This place is wonderfully tranquil. It's well worth going there for a cup of tasty coffee, sitting down surrounded by beautifully published books and enjoying the pleasantly calm atmosphere. If you're into beautiful editions, this is your cloud nine in Kraków.
