The Antwerp Arms is a local treasure. It has been owned and run by the community in Tottenham for over a decade. The pub has a wide range of interesting beers, including very local beer from a few hundred meters away, the Redemption Brewery.
When you go here, you can expect a warm welcome. There are many pop-up food options. On our last visit, in celebration of the late August Notting Hill Carnival, there was jerk chicken and all the trimmings as well as West Indian music and flags. There's a garden for sunny days and a pool table, as well as a convivial spirit when Tottenham football club plays at home.
The staff at the pub are also extremely friendly: warm, approachable, and full of guidance for exploring the area and the range of beers. We sampled several on our last visit, including some cider and a lager. You may encounter live music or groups of locals having a chat, but either way, you'll feel right at home in N17.
PS, if you get a chance, check out the tiny row of Georgian cottages just around the corner in Prospect Place: they will give you a sense of the area when it was much more bucolic and rural.
