If you’ve been deep diving on TikTok for Chinatown go-to’s in London, you’ve most probably seen Bun House come up. They’ve gone viral for their custard bun, but that’s actually not their best item. In fact, and quite ironically, Bun House’s best dishes are not the buns themselves. They are still decent and a quick fix on the go.
With very limited seating and huge queues outside for takeaways, you will take part in London’s biggest hobby: standing in line for a really long time.
But it’s worth it, especially if you wait to be seated.
Their actual secret weapon (and probably what pays their bills) is the chili green beans. This dish was definitely the underdog of the entire experience.
The steamed dumplings were delicious as well (prawns at #1). Ordering a few small plates and tasting a bit of everything is probably the way to go. I would just add that the crispy tofu is probably not worth it. The rest, by all means, have at it.
And remember… life is too short to die on an empty stomach – so make it count!
