Chinatown in London is thought of as being the area in Soho around Gerrard Street, where there are large arches and a cluster of mainly Cantonese restaurants and bakeries. But there's a new Chinatown in London, spurred on by the continued eastward march of the City of London and also by the large population of Chinese expats and students hungry for the cuisine of their own region.
Cloud Land offers delicious specialties from one of the most beautiful regions of China, Yunnan Province, which borders Vietnam and Thailand. You can get fabulous spice (such as the well-renowned spicy chicken) or order the wonderful Over the Bridge rice noodles served on its own wooden bridge! Plus, their cucumber salad is one of the best I have ever had.
Come here for a series of tastes you won't get anywhere else, unless you travel the 9,000 or so kilometres from London to Yunnan.
