Ellie from London

About me My name is Ellie and I’m a born and bred Londoner, obsessed with all things travel related. I was brought up in South-East London where I’m based at the moment, but I have also lived in Brighton on the South coast of England for university for three years and in sunny Sydney in Australia for one year. IFS Cloud Cable Car London

Views of the East End

"IFS Cloud Cable Car is largely underrated, despite the huge sponsorship. It's one of my favorite ways to see London from up high — and it's inexpensive!"

London is full of opportunities to take to the skies for a good view of the sprawling city skyline. But for me, nothing beats an exciting voyage on the IFS Cloud Cable Car.

This intriguing and inexpensive method of travelling between Greenwich and the Royal Docks over the River Thames is largely underrated, costing just £13 for a round-trip.

I recommend boarding your pod from Greenwich and taking a round-trip. There's an option for a one-way trip at £7, but, for me, it doesn't feel long enough in the skies. Plus, there doesn't seem to be too much to do in the Royal Docks.

Your trip across the skies offers sublime views of the Millennium Dome and the business district of Canary Wharf. But what I find fascinating is peeking into the life of the London Docklands. Old, rusty boats and ships scatter across the murky grey of the River Thames. On land, there are hundreds of crusting shipping containers and metalworks.

At the end of your "flight," hop off and enjoy the rest of your day exploring the quaint and historic borough of Greenwich.

Art Deco haven

In the heart of Southeast London sits "Eltham Palace and Gardens". Once a medieval estate, in the '30s it was styled with mesmerizing art deco furnishings.
