It’s comes as no surprise that eating out in London can sometimes break the bank. During my (many) student years, whenever I was in London it was a challenge to enjoy the city’s culinary scene while sticking to budget. This is where Jai Krishna comes in. This place is, in my humble opinion, one of the best cheap eats in town.
This South Indian joint offers delicious curries and dosas at low prices. The interior is basic, but don’t let this put you off. The main attraction, without a doubt, is the food. I would recommend going in a group and sharing a large selection, but if I had to choose I’d say my favourite dishes are the masala dosa, the samosa or chana chaat and the bengan bhartha. One of their many paneer curries is also a must, along with a selection of their breads to go with. They also offer good value set menus for a fixed number of people.
To top it all off, its BYOB (bring your own booze for those that don’t know), which means you can enjoy a beer while keeping the cost down – winner!
