In a slowly up-and-coming neighborhood in the west of London, hidden gems are standing out. Another banger in Acton is ready to serve you delicious fish and chips at an affordable price.
Stones is a family-owned business by a French Algerian family, led by Amine and his wife Najett, with a passion for this British classic. The name of the shop pays homage to Najett's love for The Rolling Stones. Isn't this the best thing you've heard today?
With a promise to serve only the best produce and use pure cooking oil, Stones brings North African hospitality to the London scene through exceptional food and service. Every meal I've had there has been delicious. I love using the phrase "it's so freshly fried" when describing a 10/10 batter and crispy skin. It's not at all oily or greasy, and is just a go-to savoury treat. I always go for a takeaway order of the cod and chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. Their curry sauce is also a must-have if you're up for an extra burst of flavour.
I have yet to try their battered sausage, but I am sure it will be nothing short of delicious. I'm just a sucker when it comes to fried fish ... send help!
