It’s perhaps the greatest understatement of the century to say that the pizza market in London is oversaturated, so when somewhere like Theo’s gets it right, you really sit up and take notice. The checklist for this Neopolitan-style sourdough joint is simple, and filled with ticks.
Banging pizza, check; a fair price, check; good drinks, check; a neighbourhood atmosphere, check; cool vibes, check; a hustle and bustle complicit in the need to be squeezed onto a tiny table because this place is so good, double check. In essence, when it comes to stylish neighbourhood pizza joints, Theo’s has all the bases covered.
With a clean white decor and outrageous smells fighting out the front door against the tide of delivery riders, it is everything one could hope for in an understatedly cool local food joint. There are two Theo's knocking around London (the other is in Elephant and Castle), but Camberwell's rendition stands out from the crowd due to its excellent location and seamless harmonisation with the feel of the area.
