Thrift shopping is like treasure hunting. It's not a necessity, but exciting to find a gem. There's beauty in breathing fresh life into old things. I love this magical aspect of recycling.
In LA, we have lots 'o thrift shops for eclectic finds. I'm always on the hunt for magical items. I once found a magic wish jar, dragon teacup, and snowboard for $10 that I rode for 3 months. I love the jewelry, books, baskets, bells and ceramics. There’s something for everyone and it's good for Planet Earth.
The best neighborhoods to thrift in LA are Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, and Santa Monica. There are real price thrift shops in the hood-rich parts of LA, too. For real cheap thrift go to Public Estrellas, Trove, y La Yardita Thrift Shop.
Best "Thrift Shops" in LA:
Bell Thrift
SOS Thrift
LA Road Thrift
Magnolia Park Thrift District (3 in Burbank)
Assisted League — Thrift Alley in Glendale
Thrift Dynasties (Multiple Shops in LA): “Thrift dynasties” are chains with multiple thrift shops throughout LA. These include: Goodwill, Assisted League, & NCJW/The Council Sh0p. One of my favorites is Thrift Alley in Glendale. It's open Wednesday — Saturday, 10 am — 2 pm, and circulates fresh items daily.
