Sand. Waves. Beach...And gymnastics! Yes! The Original Muscle Beach, just south of Santa Monica Pier, has a ton of equipment available for free for all to use. People come together to have fun and get exercise at the same time. There's definitely a beautiful community feel to this place. I love spending time in nature and having access to the equipment is an awesome perk.
Watch others show off their talents on the rings, beams, and ropes and give it a go yourself! Rent bikes, play, take a stroll, people watch, or get a tan. The last time I was there, I easily spent the entire day at the beach. If you have children with you, there is a kids area and if it's Sunday, definitely check out the acro yoga community on the grass area from late noon to sundown.
Free entertainment, exercise, and nature...who could ask for a better day?
