Cotton candy & ice cream!
When I first heard about the new dessert shop "CottonHi" in Koreatown I couldn't wait to try it! The concept: soft serve ice cream topped with organic cotton candy.
My experience:
Painted in yellow and sporting a super cute cartoon logo, the design of the shop lends itself to a fun, youthful feel. I entered feeling like a little kid in a candy shop! The employee working was friendly and helpful in explaining the various combinations available. To aid in my decision making, he offered samples of the many cotton candy flavors to choose from, some of which included: Salted Caramel, Lemonade, Coffee, Strawberry, and Hibiscus. I went with the Organic Double Mint Cotton Candy atop of a Chocolate/Original soft serve blend, sprinkled with Lucky Charms marshmallows for an extra visual delight - it made for a happy, colorful treat.
I never cared for cotton candy growing up, but due to the tantalizing ice cream combo and the number of unique flavors - I had to give it a go. The verdict? Light, fluffy, and not too sugary - the organic cotton candy was good and extra fun to the palate coupled with a frozen treat. In fact, after writing this, I’m ready to go back right now and try another flavor!
Koreatown has a ton of Karaoke and Korean BBQ places, so take advantage of these experiences while you're there. Parking can be challenging. I parked on the street and walked to all my destinations. Otherwise, it's $ 2 valet at CottonHi.
