Alegria means "joy" in Spanish—a perfect reflection of Carole's mission.
In the heart of Luxembourg, a new and unique destination has arrived for pastry lovers and those searching for a cosy, trendy spot to chill out. Alegria, a charming pastry shop founded by the talented Carole, opened its doors in November in rue des Capucins, offering an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
"Cheffe pâtissière de l’année en octobre 2020, par le Gault&Millau Luxembourg", Carole’s journey led her to create this delightful space, combining her passion for sweets and plant-based cuisine. With a cosy room filled with warm, welcoming seating, perfect for settling in and enjoying a peaceful moment, a stunning terrace overlooking the Théâtre des Capucins, and a kids' playground, Alegria is set to become a favourite spot for both locals and tourists alike. It’s quickly become one of my favourite places for a leisurely weekend breakfast or to grab a delicious sandwich during lunchtime—always a treat, no matter the time of day!
Carole beautifully reflects the flavours of her grandmother’s pastries in her creations, and my absolute favourite is the madeleines with buckwheat flour and melty caramel inside—pure indulgence in every bite. Plus, Carole offers pastry classes for those looking to learn so you can bring a little bit of Alegria’s magic home.
Whether you’re looking for fresh homemade pastries in the morning, seasonal tarts, or a cozy dinner with natural wines, Alegria promises to be an unforgettable culinary escape.
