I know, I know – it’s a shopping mall. One of the biggest in Scandinavia, as a matter of fact. And I do love a little stroll while doing some window shopping. I could give you a whole list of practical things you have there, like the long opening hours, so you can still catch up on your groceries after work; everything in one place, of course, WiFi etc, etc. But the two things that make this place special for me have nothing to do with shopping.
The first one is the building itself. I do like what the architect did with the place, both outside and inside. I’m not surprised at all that people are taking selfies with Emporia, as I have done myself, and I'm not ashamed of it! The inside has a lot of green spaces, there are even bird singing sound effects in the bathrooms!
The second thing is the terrace. You get a nice view of the Oresund Bridge of course, Turning Torso and of Malmo itself. And it is perfect if you want to run away from the hustle and bustle of other shoppers. Sometimes there are events organized there, even a small ice-rink during winter months or a luxurious car exhibit. Basically, never a dull moment.
