Feeling the Saturday night fever, but Top 40 tracks don’t get you in the mood? Luckily Malmö’s nightlife has also options for people like you - and me.
Daniel Novakovic is the founding father of the club No Time For Us, named after the Swedish indie band Broder Daniel’s song from the late '90s. The song has been the inspiration to the general vibe and aesthetics of the club, and the evening's playlist consist of old and new indie pop tunes. You can also request your own favorite songs that will keep you going on the dance floor till the early hours. The evening ends to playing a song called Shoreline – also another indie classic from Broder Daniel.
In addition to No Time for Us, Daniel organizes clubs called Too Cute to Puke (strictly female fronted bands and artists) and Chips for Tea (everything from '80s classic bangers, new wave, post-punk to soul from the sixties). The clubs take place in Moriskan and Grand Öl&Mat. The entrance to the venues is usually free before 11 pm, and after that the fee is around 120 kr.
Daniel is also taking care of that the legacy of classic indie tunes will pass on to the next generation, thanks to his new club concept The Kids At The Club, which welcomes both kids and parents to the dance floor. This club takes place in Far i Hatten (check my other article).
