CityLife park came to life over several years. Step by step, its aspect and character changed until it reached that state of perfection it shows today. I consider this space more than a simple park, I think this could be the evolution of the 90s green areas we are used to. That’s because of the multiple functions it serves: from the sustainable zero-impact nursery to its very cool meeting point for a pre-dinner drink. One of the latest adornments this park has gained is one the most beautiful permanent sculptures of Milan: COLORIS.
COLORIS is a spectacular art installation, and as suggested by the very evocative and descriptive name, is a very colorful spot right in the middle of the grass. I felt like a bee the first time I saw it, so attracted by those brilliant colors, that were so visible and so appealing! Once there, I started wandering around the very high poles that make up that installation.
I was just in the middle of the installation when I heard a man saying to his child “Australia and new Zeland”… WHAT?? And I finally realized that the poles were growing from a big world map drowned on the ground! Amazing, I was standing right on Canada!
That’s how I perceived innovation: this spot’s great feature! I was touching it, staying into it and watching it from very close-up: living it a little bit more than I ever had with any other artwork.
