“Ekologiya” or “Ecology” Square is a small green oasis just a few minutes' walk from noisy and crowded Arbat Street. I often stroll around the alleyways next to Arbat Street and every time I was sure that I had discovered every detail in this location. However, not so long ago, I found this square.
Actually, the garden is an alley with a small park ensemble. “Ekologiya” Square includes several sculptures created by famous Russian sculptor Alexander Bourganov. For example, there is a sculpture of Pegasus, a sculpture of an angel and a sculpture of a hand with a butterfly sitting on it that represents ecology. It is a real open-air museum!
So, if you need a moment of silence while strolling along Arbat Street, or just want to explore a new spot in a well-known district of Moscow, take a walk to “Ekologiya” Square. If you are tired of museums but want to enjoy art a little bit, this place is still a good solution!
